Animal welfare is a priority in Escobedo, where the aim is to promote responsible pet ownership. In this context, Rex, a St. Bernard dog, becomes an example of overcoming and positive transformation.
Rex was rescued in the La Unidad neighborhood, where he lived in precarious conditions, without access to food or water and in an unhealthy environment. Thanks to the collaboration of neighbors and the Attorney General's Office, he was rescued. After months of rehabilitation and care, he is now healthy and looking for a new home.
To find him a loving family, a search campaign has been launched. Those interested in adopting Rex can visit the facilities of the Animal Protection and Welfare Directorate, located in the Olivos II neighborhood.
The commitment to animal welfare is reflected in Escobedo through public policies that ensure decent conditions for animals. The visit of students from High School 25 to the Municipal Veterinary Clinic with a donation of food and cleaning supplies was a gesture that will contribute to animal protection efforts.
Mayor Andrés Mijes, along with Wendy Briones, director of Animal Protection and Welfare, appreciated this show of solidarity and emphasized the importance of caring for the most vulnerable beings, including pets. The prosperity promoted by the local government also encompasses the welfare of animals, like Rex, who is now waiting for a new family to provide him with love and care.
