
The Attorney General's Office of Mexico City assured that every femicide committed by the alleged serial femicide in Iztacalco, Miguel "N", who died on April 13 last in the Eastern Preventive Male Prison, will be clarified.
The Attorney General, Bertha Alcalde Luján, met with the families of the victims of the femicides that occurred in Iztacalco. During the meeting, it was mentioned that the possible existence of other victims is under investigation based on seven names obtained in the ongoing investigation.
Despite Miguel "N"'s death, investigations are still underway. During a search of his home, skeletal remains, tools, and personal belongings that could be linked to other missing women were found. It is estimated that the accused could be linked to at least seven femicides and one attempt, with evidence covering a period between the years 2012 and 2024.
Miguel "N" was arrested on April 16, 2024, in the La Cruz Coyuya neighborhood, after being discovered by the mother of a victim while committing an assault. He was taken to the General Hospital of Iztapalapa due to a bruise from a fall in his cell, where he was eventually declared without vital signs with a possible cardiorespiratory arrest as the cause of death.
The Attorney's Office reiterated its commitment to investigating to ensure fair processes and move toward comprehensive reparation for the damage caused by this case of femicides in Mexico City.
