The National Weather Service (SMN) reported that cold front number 42 and its polar air mass will continue to generate significant weather conditions in the country, mainly this Sunday, March 29, and in the coming days. This system will bring rains to different regions, as well as a drop in temperature in the north, northeast, east, and center of the country, in addition to a north-wind event with intense gusts in the isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec and on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula. For this Sunday, the polar air mass is expected to begin modifying its thermal characteristics, which will allow for a gradual rise in daytime temperatures in much of the country; however, the environment will continue to be cold during the morning and night in the north, northeast, center, and east. This day will see the persistence of a north-wind component with gusts of up to 90 km/h in the isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec, while in the southeast states, gusts will range between 30 and 50 km/h, with a tendency to decrease in the afternoon. Regarding precipitation, heavy to very heavy point rains are forecast for Chihuahua and Durango this Sunday, as well as showers with heavy point rains in Sonora, Sinaloa, Zacatecas, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Veracruz, and Tabasco. Intervals of showers are also expected in the center and southeast states such as Guanajuato, State of Mexico, Morelos, Puebla, Guerrero, Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo, as well as isolated rains in the north and center entities, including Querétaro, Mexico City, and Hidalgo.
