However, monitoring continues due to the increase in conditions favorable for the reproduction of the transmitting mosquito.
Background and current panorama of Dengue in the state It should be recalled that during 2025, Jalisco registered a total of 2,275 confirmed cases of dengue, in addition to 10 deaths.
With the arrival of the first rains of the year, the state of Jalisco began to intensify preventive actions to curb the spread of dengue, a disease that each season represents a challenge for health authorities.
According to data from the Ministry of Health (SSa), as of March 30, 2026, the entity has accumulated 17 confirmed cases. Of this total, 10 correspond to Non-Severe Dengue (DNG), while seven show signs of alarm (DCSA).
In this regard, although the rainy season has not formally begun, the authorities have chosen to get ahead with containment strategies. Similarly, with these measures, it is sought to reduce risks from early stages of the year, considering that the increase in humidity and stagnant water favors the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the main vector of the disease.
Preventive measures are already underway On the other hand, the measures implemented include fumigation in priority areas, as well as campaigns for washing water tanks, pools, and cisterns. Likewise, emphasis is placed on the elimination of containers that can store water, as these become potential breeding grounds.
It should be noted that the Jalisco Health Secretariat (SSJ) has also reiterated the call to the population to keep homes, yards, rooftops, and common areas clean.
The intention, however, is not only to contain the current cases but also to prevent a resurgence in the coming months.
Finally, it has been highlighted that the most effective strategy to prevent dengue is to “wash, cover, turn over, and throw away” objects that can accumulate water.
