So far, there is one person trapped between the truck and their vehicle, although the conditions of the other occupants are unknown. Emergency services have closed the highway in both directions to facilitate rescue and medical attention efforts. Traffic personnel are managing traffic and securing the area, while the Condors, an aerial unit of the SSC, are conducting flyovers to assess the situation from the air.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City reported that the accident was caused by a garbage truck that apparently lost its brakes and collided with other vehicles, including a passenger truck.
