Priscilla Franco has been appointed by the elected governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, to head the Secretariat of the Social Assistance System. Her main objective is to provide support to the most vulnerable groups in the state, such as the elderly, children, and teenagers. In an exclusive interview with Publimetro, she emphasized the importance of her new position that will begin on December 6.
"I take it on with great responsibility. Leading the Secretariat of Social Assistance means relying on three pillars: caring, supporting, and helping people in the state of Jalisco. We must have a broad vision, be close to the people, and know each region and corner of the state to succeed in the public policies we will implement," Franco stated, highlighting the importance of proximity and willingness to achieve this.
The Social Assistance System will seek to establish close links with the 125 municipalities of Jalisco to ensure that no one is left behind and that all people in vulnerable situations receive support. Among its goals is the reintroduction of childcare centers in the state, allowing working parents to feel safe leaving their children in a suitable place.
Franco also supports health programs that reach directly to the homes of Jalisco residents, recognizing that current public policies, including pensions for the elderly, do not address all the needs of the population. She highlighted the importance of creating an effective program that can address the shortcomings of the current healthcare system and provide comprehensive care to the population.
