Melanie de Jesús, a victim of an attack by her boyfriend Christian Rojas Martínez, narrated that the beating she suffered was due to her demanding that he return the keys to his car so he could leave the party, where he had previously inappropriately touched one of her friends.
In an interview with N+, the young nursing student recounted that at the party they were at, her boyfriend grabbed the butt of one of her friends, an action that caused her anger. Despite telling him that he could not behave that way, he told her that the next day they could address the issue more calmly.
"We left the party, got into the car, he told me he wasn't like that, he repeated that many times, took the car, left, and came back to hit me because I supposedly had the keys since he couldn't find them. The car is keyless; with the keys inside, the engine activates. They fell, and he thought I had them, he got out, came back, and hit me, just like it appears in the video."
With the first blows, Melanie lost consciousness and did not realize her friend Danna Paola intervened, whom she described as an angel who did not leave her side. A few seconds later, she regained consciousness and realized that Christian Rojas was dragging her.
"Danna was an angel for Melanie. With the intervention of her friends, whom Danna went to inform about the beating, they managed to stop him, although they called the police and a patrol arrived, the officers did not want to arrest the aggressor because there was no order against him, nor were they witnesses to the beating, a situation he took advantage of to flee."
"It was a normal relationship, going to the movies, eating, like any other relationship; sometimes he would get upset when he drank, he would become aggressive, insult me, humiliate me, until this happened, it was the worst thing he did," she said about her relationship with Christian.
Melanie lamented the reactions of some people on social media who blame the victim and stated that she does not want another woman to go through what she lived. She urged women who suffer violence to dare to report and not to allow any kind of mistreatment in their relationships. She demanded that the authorities arrest her aggressor so he can pay for his actions.
