Last year, in an interview, the author of the book about the Trevi-Andrade clan case, Karla de la Cuesta, who was also a victim of Sergio Andrade, stated that Mexico must account for all the victims of this case, not just one. De la Cuesta emphasized her right to tell her story and that of other victims who deserve justice but are not known.
In response, Gloria Trevi's legal team issued a statement clarifying that the lawsuit filed was for the unauthorized use of the singer's image in De la Cuesta's book titled "Todo a la Luz." It was specified that the legal action was not directed at the content of the book but at the use of Trevi's image, allegedly for profit.
Gloria Trevi's followers reacted by attacking Karla de la Cuesta, while critics of the singer suggested that the lawsuit was an attempt to hide the truth about the case. De la Cuesta, for her part, reiterated on her social media that she had been sued again by the singer due to her book that gives a voice to the unrecognized victims of the Trevi-Andrade clan. In her words: "Let’s stop thinking that it has already been judged."
