The president of Mexico communicated that, starting in February, the process of drawing candidates for the election of judges, magistrates, and ministers of the Judiciary of the Federation corresponds to the National Electoral Institute. After more than 7 hours of duration, the Senate concluded this process on Thursday. Noroña highlighted that this mechanism allowed for correcting 'acts of justice' and reintegrating those who had been unjustly excluded.
Sheinbaum assured that the process maintained its legal validity and continues its course. She emphasized that the INE will be responsible for publishing the list of candidates and calling for the vote. Noroña denounced that the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation sent last-minute profiles before the draw, which the president described as an irregular process.
Sheinbaum accused the SCJN of sending the names of female candidates in a way that prevented the drawing. She mentioned that out of 3,000 profiles, the Court sent only a few, which generated controversy about the process.
