The senator from Morena, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, has been under scrutiny, as upon entering the United States, he has to go through a "special area" in immigration control where he is allegedly questioned about the reasons for his trip. This situation has sparked speculation within his circle, suggesting that the dissemination of this fact could be an internal attack or "friendly fire" from institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the FGR.
Deputy Reginaldo Sandoval from the PT has expressed his party's discomfort with Morena, reminding that the PT supported Andrés Manuel López Obrador in the 2018 elections. However, there have been internal tensions, especially in Veracruz where the stakes have increased and threats of a breakup have arisen.
The PT, led by Beto Anaya, has raised the possibility of breaking the alliance in Veracruz, which already happened in Coahuila in 2023 and in Baja California in 2024, having negative consequences for the Fourth Transformation. This situation could jeopardize Morena's qualified majority in the Union Congress, affecting the capacity to make constitutional reforms.
Reginaldo Sandoval has hinted at the possibility of taking the breakup to a national level, which would include the Legislative Power in both Chambers. Additionally, he has pointed out the lack of reconciliation and respect from the majority force of the coalition, warning about the possibility that the PT may decide to continue alone in the future.
Fernández Noroña, for his part, faces criticism regarding his participation in the "Mexico-Russia Friendship Group" and the political use that has been made of this issue. Amidst these tensions, the PT seeks to highlight its rebellious and critical stance, recalling its history of confrontation with the political system.
