Sheinbaum Rejects Accusation from the White House

The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, rejected the measure imposed by Trump, arguing that it will affect not only Mexico but also the American population. She firmly denies that the Mexican government has alliances with organized crime and accuses U.S. gun manufacturers. Sheinbaum emphasizes that reports from security agencies confirm that 74% of the guns used by organized crime in Mexico come illegally from the U.S. military industry.

In a span of four months, Mexican authorities managed to seize 40 tons of drugs, including 20 million doses of fentanyl. In light of the tariffs imposed on Mexico and Canada, Donald Trump announced that he will talk with the Mexican government, without specifying if the conversation will be with Claudia Sheinbaum or with Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada. Trump justifies the tariffs by claiming that both nations owe him a lot of money and that trade deficits feed the large budget deficit and debt of the United States.

The U.S. president hinted at the possibility of implementing similar measures against other countries, including the European Union. He emphasized that Canada has been "very abusive" to the United States for years, despite being considered a close ally. Trump also mentioned the arrest of more than 10,000 people linked with criminal groups and accused U.S. arms manufacturers of selling high-powered weapons to these groups.

In conclusion, Sheinbaum rejected the accusations from the White House, defended Mexico's stance, and firmly denied having alliances with organized crime. Trump, for his part, justified the tariffs by arguing pending debts and declared his intention to engage in dialogue with Mexican authorities in the coming days.
