Violent Weekend in Tabasco Claims 19 Lives

During the weekend, the state of Tabasco, in southern Mexico, was the scene of multiple violent acts resulting in the death of at least 19 people. In response to this wave of violence, an operation was carried out in the municipality of Nacajuca, culminating in the detention of 16 people, including twelve municipal police officers.

Among the most notable incidents is an attack in a bar in the Miguel Hidalgo neighborhood, where a group of armed men fired at four individuals before setting the place on fire, leaving no opportunity for escape and causing their death by burns.

In a separate situation in Jesús Sibilla Zurita, municipality of Centro, authorities found the lifeless bodies of two people along the road that connects Villahermosa with La Isla, also victims of gunfire, according to local reports. These victims are part of the troubling total of fatalities across various points in the state during these days.

Furthermore, this joint effort by law enforcement led to the confiscation of weapons and various types of illicit substances.
