In May 2012, charges were brought against him in a U.S. court. A resident of Mexico, he is considered dangerous, possibly armed, and a flight risk. He is accused of conspiring to manufacture and distribute cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and marijuana in the United States between 2005 and 2019. The FBI is offering a reward of up to 5 million dollars for information leading to his arrest.

Acting FBI Director Brian Driscoll urges anyone with information on the whereabouts of Fausto Isidro Meza to contact the agency to assist in his capture. Meza Flores's criminal organization, in addition to drug trafficking, is attributed with criminal activities such as kidnapping, extortion, torture, and murder. He is particularly noted for trafficking fentanyl amid accusations from President Donald Trump regarding the trafficking of this substance from Mexico to the United States.

Fausto Isidro Meza Flores, 42 years old, is described as a Mexican man with dark brown hair, brown eyes, and a height of 1.68 meters.
