Senator Marco Rubio praised President Trump's peace through strength strategy and declared that the days of weak U.S. leadership are over. During his first trip to Central American countries, Secretary of State Pompeo discussed concrete measures to secure the border and combat transnational crime and illegal migration with Mexican Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente. He thanked Mexico for sending 10,000 soldiers to the border.

On the other hand, the White House highlighted progress in the construction of an additional 128 kilometers of the wall with Mexico, as well as the resumption of emblematic projects of Trump. Presidential spokesperson Karoline Leavitt reported that there are approximately 79 miles of new wall projects in various states of construction and planning. During his first term, Trump had managed to raise about 740 kilometers of wall funded by the Department of Defense.

Among the actions highlighted by the Trump administration is the border security agreement with Mexico and Canada. Mexico sent 10,000 National Guard personnel to the border, while Canada appointed a fentanyl czar and designated Mexican cartels as terrorists. In recognition of these measures, Trump suspended the implementation of tariffs while negotiations continue.

Additionally, it was noted that El Salvador offered to be a third safe country for criminals from other nations, Venezuela accepted the repatriation of gang members, and flights of migrants to Guantanamo from Texas began. Secretaries Rubio and De la Fuente reaffirmed their commitment to work together as neighbors and partners in these efforts.
