Specifically, the decree establishes the prohibition of genres such as 'corridos tumbados', 'narcocorridos', 'corridos bélicos', among others, at public events held in squares, auditoriums, stadiums, and entertainment centers. The Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of the State of Nayarit will be responsible for verifying compliance with this measure through inspection operations and imposing sanctions in case of non-compliance.
The sanctions include the temporary or permanent suspension of the event, as well as the revocation of operating permits. The decision to ban these musical genres is based on the need to promote values of peace and respect, encouraging music and art as means to build a culture of peace in society.
The government of Nayarit justifies the prohibition of 'narcocorridos' by arguing that they have a negative impact on society and especially on youth by promoting violence and crime. With the implementation of this measure, it seeks to strengthen public safety and guarantee a violence-free environment at public events held in the state. The decree has come into effect throughout the state of Nayarit since Wednesday.
