Marianne Gonzaga Faces Trial as a Minor in Mexico

Marianne Gonzaga, 17 years old, will be processed under the Juvenile Justice System, not under the Criminal Code, as a result of the knife attack she committed against Valeria Gilabert. According to the National Law of the Comprehensive Juvenile Criminal Justice System, the maximum penalty for her would be 5 years of confinement, due to legal provisions that protect minors in Mexico, as pointed out by lawyer Ayrton Marín.

In the published images, Marianne appears with her baby and José, hugging, and in another, both are with Emma in the influencer's womb. Ayrton Marín Becerril, lawyer for the victim, described that Valeria was in an apartment in Mexico City accompanied by a man, supposedly José Said, and two other unidentified individuals. Then, those individuals and Valeria's partner left, a moment that Marianne took advantage of to enter and attack Valeria with two knives.

As of now, the motives behind the attack have not been revealed, but it is suggested that they are related to the father of Marianne's daughter. According to Marín, there was a discussion prior to the attack. José Said, who is presumed to have been Marianne's partner and is the father of her daughter, has been featured in photographs on social media. If Marianne is found guilty of causing serious injuries, she could be sent to a social rehabilitation center after the corresponding legal process.
