Truckers Organize Mega March in the State of Mexico

The Association of transporters, merchants, and related entities in the State of Mexico (ACME) expressed its firm rejection of corruption and abuse of power that have affected their assets. In this regard, a mega march is being prepared for this Monday, February 17, raising concerns about the possible impact on traffic and the closure of roads.

Among some suggested alternative routes to avoid the traffic generated by the marches are Avenida Arteaga y Salazar, the Naucalpan-Toluca Highway, Avenida Pantitlán, the Churubusco River, Avenida Bordo de Xochiaca, and the Federal Highway to Cuernavaca. These routes are not expected to be closed due to the transporter protest.

On the other hand, associations of transporters and merchants have announced that the roads affected by the marches will be the Periférico Norte, Circuito Exterior Mexiquense, the entrances to Mexico City International Airport (AICM) and Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), as well as various important highways and avenues.

Transporters urged barbers, merchants, business owners, and citizens affected by abuses of authority or extortion to join the mega march in defense of their labor rights. ACME emphasizes the importance of working with dignity without being considered a crime.

It is expected that road closures in Mexico City will begin at 8:00 AM on Monday, which could cause significant chaos in morning traffic. It is recommended to follow the instructions of local authorities, take precautions, and stay alert for potential updates on real-time traffic status through the Traffic Orientation Center of the Secretary of Citizen Security.
