Silvia 'N', the woman who faked a pregnancy and subsequently the kidnapping of her baby, has been charged with offenses comparable to false statements and reports provided to the authority, as well as public disorder. The Attorney General's Office of Nuevo León reported that the Public Prosecutor's Agent found sufficient grounds to proceed with the charges against this 19-year-old woman, originally from Veracruz. The offenses are outlined in the current Penal Code for the State of Nuevo León.
"The judge considers the reasons presented by the Investigating Public Prosecutor's Agent as sufficient to establish the alleged involvement of Silvia 'N' in the charged events, which is why a process link ruling has been issued against her," stated the Attorney's Office. As a precautionary measure, she was imposed with periodic reporting. It is important to mention that the indictment hearing took place in the absence of the accused.
On February 13, the Justice Prosecutor's Office of Nuevo León issued an Amber Alert for the alleged kidnapping of a baby in the municipality of Escobedo. According to Silvia 'N's version, two individuals, a man and a woman, entered her home, sedated her, and then administered an injection to induce labor. Following the young woman's complaint, authorities quickly mobilized, establishing checkpoints in the city for vehicle inspections. However, it was later determined, following examinations, that Silvia had not been pregnant at any time.
"The Attorney General's Office of the State of Nuevo León has confirmed that, according to studies and medical legal reports, there is no evidence of a pregnancy in the person identified as Silvia, 19 years old," the institution communicated. The alleged kidnapping took place in the Concordia neighborhood of Escobedo, and the corresponding Amber Alert was generated. It is said that the alleged kidnappers fled on a motorcycle with the baby wrapped in a sheet, still with the umbilical cord.
