The College of Bachilleres and the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) are about to finalize the automatic admission process for students, as they will sign a collaboration agreement this Tuesday for the benefit of students in Mexico. The signing will take place at 11:00 AM in the central esplanade of the rectorate of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, with the presence of José Antonio de los Reyes Heredia, rector of the UAM, and Adán Escobedo Robles, general director of the College of Bachilleres.
The agreement will establish an admission mechanism to the metropolitan university by recognizing the pre-university trajectory of the student, as well as the development of joint projects and academic activities. According to the rector of the UAM, José Antonio de los Reyes Heredia, the "preferential pass" will facilitate access for young people to higher education, especially for those enrolled in the College of Bachilleres. In addition, it will strengthen the historical relationship between both institutions, as 23% of UAM students come from the College of Bachilleres. In 2024, the number of admitted students from Bachilleres to the UAM reached 35%.
Although the pass will not replace the UAM entrance selection exam, the rector of the university clarified that it will be maintained in accordance with established regulations. All applicants to the UAM will take the test, but candidates from the College of Bachilleres will be given priority.
