Relatives of the victims of Miguel Cortés Miranda, known as the serial femicide of Iztacalco, are demanding justice and clarification of the facts. This individual is linked to at least six femicides and one attempted femicide. Among the victims are Amairany Roblero González, Frida Sofía Lima Rivera, and Viviana Elizabeth Garrido Ibarra. Currently, he is only being prosecuted for homicide, so they are urging the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City to conclude the investigations to charge him with femicide and disappearance.
A demonstration took place outside the FGJCDMX demanding a meeting with Prosecutor Bertha Alcalde Luján. The relatives request multidisciplinary identification reports of the victims in order to provide them with restitution and a dignified delivery. So far, the Coordination of Forensic Investigation and Expert Services of CDMX has not provided these reports, causing frustration among the relatives.
A mother of one of the victims expressed her discontent with the constant changes of prosecutors in the case, which has prolonged the investigation. She asks the new prosecutor not to change those in charge of the case again and to carry out efficient work. The lack of information and delays in delivering results have increased the desperation of the relatives, who have been seeking answers for years.
The mother of one of the victims highlighted the impotence she feels from not seeing progress in the case after so many years. She stressed the need to have trained and committed prosecutors in resolving femicide and disappearance cases. The lack of clear conclusions and detailed information keeps them in a constant fight for justice.
