
According to the information provided by the Attorney General's Office (FGR), it has been revealed that 'El Mayo' Zambada, a presumed leader of a drug cartel, has three arrest warrants against him.
During a statement, the head of the FGR mentioned that judges are delaying hearings "with total cynicism", which hinders the administration of justice in the country. Additionally, it was reported that extradition processes can take up to 11 years.
On the other hand, the U.S. Embassy in Mexico stated to a media outlet that the designation of cartels as terrorists does not grant additional powers to their military and that it is necessary to work together to combat this problem.
In other news, it is highlighted that new foreign investments in Mexico reached a record figure of 36,872 million dollars in 2024, representing 9% of total investments.
Furthermore, in political matters, the plenary left open the possibility of nepotism in political positions until 2030, after modifying an initiative aimed at stopping the inheritance of positions starting from the midterm elections of 2027.
