CJF Rejects Comments on Judges and Drug Trafficking

The Federal Judiciary Council (CJF) rejected the comments from the Secretary of Security, Omar García Harfuch, who highlighted alleged agreements between judges and drug traffickers. In a statement, the CJF clarified that each resolution made by one of its members can be challenged through the channels established by law.

During the morning press conference, García Harfuch stated: “The Security Cabinet has information that there was a risk that some of these targets requested by the Government of the United States could be released or that their extradition processes could continue to be delayed due to agreements with some judges who sought to favor them as had been done on other occasions and for many years.”

In response, the CJF emphasized that in a Rule of Law, the appropriate course of action is to go to the corresponding instances. “Therefore, the Presidency of the Federal Judiciary Council rejects insinuations about the conduct of judges and expresses its total willingness that if there is evidence, actions will proceed according to the law without exceptions.”
