After 38 days since the controversy began between Maribel Guardia and her daughter-in-law, it was announced this Saturday that Imelda Tuñón regained her son and reunited with José Julián. The authorities determined the provisional custody of José Julián Figueroa to Maribel Guardia on January 31 and set a deadline of 90 days to investigate the report of domestic violence allegedly perpetrated by Garza Tuñón. Imelda shared her happiness at reuniting with her son through social media, without giving details on how it happened.
"Through the evidence presented by the young actress from ¡Qué plantón!, the authorities decided that custody of the child should go back to the mother," journalist Addis Tuñón said in a live broadcast. The evidence presented by Imelda managed to dismiss the alleged domestic violence and allowed the authorities to decide in favor of the child’s well-being.
After the hearing on Friday where the evidence was reviewed, it was determined that Imelda was suitable to have custody of José Julián. The authorities ruled out psychological and toxicological issues that could put the minor at risk. Maribel Guardia handed the child over to the authorities to return to his mother.
So far, Maribel Guardia has not commented on the authorities' decision regarding the custody of her grandson. For her part, Imelda expressed her happiness at having her son back and thanked the authorities for acting according to the law and determining that she is fit to care for her little one.
