
A few days before the end of the tariff pause imposed by the Government of the United States on Mexico, President Claudia Sheinbaum reiterated the importance of respecting our country as a sovereign and independent nation. She emphasized the need to maintain a relationship based on cooperation and coordination, but without falling into subordination. Sheinbaum highlighted Mexico's role as a great country and a cultural example in the world.
The president called on citizens to participate in the elections of the Judiciary that will take place on Sunday, June 1. She believes that this participation is essential to advance the fight against corruption in Mexico. Sheinbaum highlighted that the act of voting in these elections represents an example of democracy for the entire world and stressed the importance of electing judges, magistrates, and ministers transparently for the first time in the country's history.
During an event in Manzanillo, Colima, President Claudia Sheinbaum initiated the construction of 13,250 homes as part of the National Housing Program for Well-Being. She highlighted that these homes will have green areas and will be available at affordable prices. In addition, she mentioned that the Government is promoting initiatives in collaboration with the Government of Colima, such as the expansion of the Manzanillo airport.
Efraín Morales, head of Conagua, announced at the event that the recovery of 120 million cubic meters of water in Guanajuato will be carried out through the modernization of irrigation for 10,200 hectares. Among the planned works in the region is the rehabilitation of 450 hydraulic structures in primary and secondary canals, as well as parcel modernization in the La Purísima and Acámbaro modules using drip irrigation systems. In addition, the construction of the Solís - León aqueduct is planned with an investment of 15 billion pesos to guarantee water supply in the municipalities of Celaya, Salamanca, Irapuato, Silao, and León.
