In the midst of an investigation into corruption and illicit enrichment, a video has been released showing the opulent official residence where the former governor of Michoacán, Silvano Aureoles, lived. The property, which served as his home during his term, includes a bunker of 120 square meters, a helipad, a pool, a jacuzzi, a sauna, hot tubs, tennis and basketball courts, extensive green areas, and recreational spaces.
The current governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, revealed in November 2021 images of the official residence, known as 'Casa Michoacán', that Aureoles occupied. "I have decided not to live in the Government House. That is over," expressed the Michoacán leader, opting not to reside there and transforming it into a cultural space for the state, similar to Los Pinos following the initiative of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Silvano Aureoles Conejo, former governor of Michoacán, is currently a fugitive from justice, with an arrest warrant against him for alleged crimes such as embezzlement, money laundering, fraudulent administration, and organized crime. He is accused of a possible overpricing in the construction of seven state police barracks for 5,186 million pesos, recorded as rentals.
State and federal sources have confirmed the existence of the arrest warrant against the former official. It is noteworthy that Aureoles had a bunker constructed with armored walls and windows, as well as an escape passage as part of his eccentricities.
