Salgado Macedonio Will Wait Until 2030 for Governorship

Senator Félix Salgado Macedonio has announced that he will postpone his quest for the governorship of Guerrero until the year 2030. This comes after statements from President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, who indicated that if he wanted to run in 2027, he would have to do so with another political party. Salgado Macedonio reaffirmed his support for Morena and the federal leader through his social networks, declaring his commitment to the movement. In his words, 'It is too early to talk about candidacies, I will close my mouth, I fully support Morena, the Fourth Transformation, and my great president Claudia Sheinbaum. I am young and can wait until 2033, and with this, I close the chapter.'

These statements come after Salgado Macedonio questioned the restrictions established by Morena last weekend to prevent the immediate reelection of relatives of rulers. Despite arguing that the Constitution guarantees all citizens the right to seek an elected office, the senator has decided to align with the party's stance and avoid a confrontation with the national leadership and President Sheinbaum, who has set clear rules regarding candidate selection.

Salgado Macedonio's stance is interpreted as an act of internal discipline aimed at strengthening the unity of Morena in light of the upcoming electoral processes. The senator's public support for Claudia Sheinbaum adds to the national leadership's efforts to maintain cohesion in the Fourth Transformation movement and prevent possible fractures. The issue of non-reelection and the fight against nepotism have generated tensions within Morena, and Salgado Macedonio's decision seems to be a step to maintain discipline and rally support.
