Security Actions in Nuevo León: Multiple Arrests

Coordinated efforts by Mexico's Security Cabinet resulted in numerous arrests and seizures of firearms and drugs across several municipalities in Nuevo León from February 28 to March 2.


Security Actions in Nuevo León: Multiple Arrests

In coordinated actions by the Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico, arrests, searches, and seizures of firearms and drugs were carried out in six municipalities of the metropolitan area of Nuevo León between February 28 and March 2.

In Doctor Arroyo, elements of the Mexican Army and State Police arrested one person who was found with multiple weapons, ammunition, tactical gear, vehicles, and a motorcycle. In Santa Catarina, the National Guard found 14 kilos of marijuana in a courier company. Meanwhile, in El Carmen, two people were arrested with handguns, magazines, cartridges, and marijuana.

Another operation in General Escobedo resulted in the arrest of three individuals along with the seizure of weapons and drugs. The State Police, the Mexican Army, and the National Guard conducted the seizure of weapons and tactical gear in a third event. In García, the National Guard arrested one person and seized a handgun and a vehicle.

The Security Cabinet highlighted that these actions are part of the National Security Strategy, which includes four priority action axes: addressing the causes, consolidating the National Guard, strengthening intelligence and investigation, and coordinating with federal entities. These operations were conducted in several states of the country, including Baja California, Chihuahua, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Puebla, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, and Sonora.

In parallel, as part of the Strategy to Combat Fuel Theft, actions were carried out in Hidalgo, Jalisco, and Querétaro, where nine clandestine fuel taps were found, two in Hidalgo, six in Jalisco, and one in Querétaro, in collaboration between the Mexican Army, National Guard, and Pemex Physical Security.
