The Green Party has increased the challenge to Morena by expressing its interest in leading the coalition in Guerrero. Senator Manuel Velasco, representative of the Green Party, has shown interest in at least three state governments currently led by Morena: Guerrero, Zacatecas, and San Luis Potosí. In the latter, the party governs with Ricardo Gallardo and seeks to remain in power.
Raúl Bolaños, vice-coordinator of the parliamentary group of the Green Party, has openly challenged Morena by stating that they want their candidates to lead the coalition in Guerrero and that they do not need to consider Félix Salgado Macedonio. For her part, Karen Castrejón, the national leader of the Green Party, has shown readiness to participate in Guerrero.
In Zacatecas, Carlos Puente Salas has declared himself prepared to aspire to the governorship, challenging the decision of Evelyn Salgado, Félix Salgado's daughter, to run for governor. Félix Salgado, after a public reprimand, announced that he would wait until 2033 to run again.
The Green Party has made it clear that they plan to present strong candidates in different states in the 2027 elections, including Carlos Puente in Zacatecas and Ricardo Gallardo Juárez in San Luis Potosí. The approval of the constitutional reform prohibiting nepotism starting in 2030 (instead of 2027, as originally proposed) has been a relevant topic, after several factions were accused of having family ties to obtain public positions.
The Green Party has challenged Morena regarding the possible candidacy of Saúl Monreal in Zacatecas, suggesting that if the promise to establish an anti-nepotism clause is fulfilled, the 4T could nominate Carlos Puente in the state. Despite accusations of a rift in the 4T coalition, Raúl Bolaños has stated that they are more united than ever and aim to win in 2027 and 2030.
