During his swearing-in as the new president of Coparmex Nuevo León for the 2025-2027 term, Roberto Cantú Alanís emphasized the importance of cooperation with the private sector to protect the interests of all Mexicans. In the political sphere, he highlighted that the country faces challenges that test democracy, such as polarization, concentration of power, and attacks on democratic institutions, which requires an active and participatory citizenry to defend fundamental principles.
Cantú Alanís expressed the desire for Nuevo León to not only be the best state in Mexico or Latin America but to become a global reference. To achieve this, efforts must be intensified to address current challenges. He mentioned the need to efficiently tackle the crisis of mobility, air quality, insecurity, and to avoid political confrontations that affect public function and citizen attention.
Regarding the current situation of tariffs imposed by the United States on Mexican imports, Cantú Alanís underlined the importance of facing this reality with intelligence and strategy. He stressed the need to strengthen Mexico as an investment destination, advocating for a proactive government approach through diplomatic dialogue and negotiation to promote regional competitiveness and reinforce integrated supply chains. He pointed out that economic integration with North America has brought jobs, growth, and positioned us as a highly competitive region globally.
