On Thursday, March 6, a new episode occurred in the peculiar exchange between Senator Lilly Téllez and the president of the Senate's governing board, Gerardo Fernández Noroña. The controversy arose when it was discovered that there was an image of Téllez in Noroña's phone photo gallery.
"Noroña flaunted a screenshot of Donald Trump's post on Truth Social, announcing the pause on the 25% tariffs on Mexico at least until April, after dialogue with President Claudia Sheinbaum," as said by the Senate leader. However, attention shifted when users noticed a thumbnail of a photo of Téllez on Noroña's phone.
The photo in question appeared to be from Wednesday, March 5, when Lilly Téllez wore a pink coat and a white shirt, along with the ash cross. In response to the situation, Téllez jokingly mentioned that Noroña would cry more for her than for his grandmother, referring to a previous emotional episode where the politician remembered his grandmother and became emotional.
The senator took the opportunity to react to several users and mock the situation, disapproving of those who suggested she was Noroña's "crush," a suggestion that has arisen due to discussions and memes circulating on social media about a supposed romance between the two politicians.
The exchange between Téllez and Noroña has been marked by disputes over political issues, such as the recent discussion on designating cartels as terrorist organizations. In fact, Noroña even turned off Téllez's microphone during a session, arguing that she wanted to introduce the "political agenda" into debates he considered inappropriate for the Senate, which led to the PAN member appearing with a megaphone, which was subsequently taken away by senators from Morena.
