Maxine Woodside Responds to Legal Controversy

Radio program host Maxine Woodside faced the media to answer questions about the wrongful termination legal process of her former collaborator Ana María Alvarado. Ana María had reported on her social media that she was fired without receiving any compensation after working for 32 years on the program. Her contract ended in January 2023 and, after two months of trying to reach an agreement without success, she decided to file a lawsuit in the Federal Labor Court, which was later moved to the local court.

Amid rumors about the supposed ruling of the lawsuit in favor of Ana María, Maxine clarified that the case is still ongoing and there is no definitive verdict yet: "It is still in the courts, we have not received a verdict yet," she stated. Regarding the prolongation of the process, Maxine expressed her confidence that the situation will be resolved by the respective authorities and entrusted the outcome to God. She referred to the duration of a previous lawsuit that lasted 5 years as an example of how complex judicial processes can be.

For her part, Ana María Alvarado confirmed that the lawsuit is still active: "The process continues," she stated. On the other hand, it was mentioned that the lawsuit referred to by Maxine was filed by Silvio García Pato, an entrepreneur and publicist, who was married to actress Olivia Collins from 1991 until their divorce in 2011. The lawsuit, directed at Maxine Woodside, Fabián Lavalle, and Ana María Alvarado, originated from comments made on the program regarding physical and emotional abuse against García Pato's wife.

Silvio García Pato passed away on February 2, 2017, in Barcelona, Spain, at the age of 72, leaving behind his two daughters Silvana and Olivia del Carmen.
