Demand for Peace and Security in Teocaltiche

The inhabitants of Teocaltiche, a municipality near Zacatecas, have issued a strong call to end the suffering and violence that plagues their homes. Following the recent murders of police officer Luis Ernesto Chávez Regino and activist Juan Pablo Alonso, the community demands peace, security, and dignity for their families. "We do not ask for privileges; we ask for what is rightfully ours: to live safely, with justice and respect," they expressed in a joint message.

On Tuesday night, the Public Security Commissioner of Teocaltiche, Ramón Grande Moncada, was murdered in an alleged direct attack. Accompanied by his wife, he was shot at by several armed individuals while driving in his vehicle. The commissioner died at the scene and his wife was injured, being taken to a hospital for medical attention. Local authorities have once again demanded the cessation of the violence that threatens the community.

This tragic event adds to other recent incidents in Teocaltiche. On February 18, eight police officers and one civilian were reported missing, with the lifeless bodies of four police officers subsequently found. The Jalisco Prosecutor's Office continues the search for the remaining five individuals. In an operation, several vehicles reported stolen, as well as firearms of various calibers, were recovered.

In light of this situation, the population of Teocaltiche stands united to demand justice and protection from state and federal authorities. "Every lost life, every broken family, every sleepless night, are wounds that cry out for justice," points out the message issued by the community. With deep indignation, they seek clear answers and decisive measures to put an end to the violence that afflicts them. Teocaltiche is not alone in this fight for peace and security.
