A study conducted by Mexico Evalúa addresses the challenges faced by municipal police in terms of regulations, benefits, and funding. Armando Vargas, the program coordinator, presented the report titled "Unprotected Police. Path to Their Labor Dignification" during an interview on Aristegui en Vivo.
Vargas explained that the analysis focuses on the situation of municipal police in Mexico, highlighting aspects such as the lack of recognition for their work, the precariousness of their working conditions, and the absence of adequate benefits. He pointed out the importance of seeking strategies to improve the situation of these public servants and to ensure a more dignified working environment.
Among the findings of the study, the need to review the regulations governing the work of municipal police is emphasized, as well as the need to strengthen their training and professionalization. Furthermore, it stresses the importance of ensuring adequate funding for local police corporations in order to improve their performance and their response capacity to the security challenges in the country.
In this regard, the Mexico Evalúa report proposes concrete recommendations to dignify the work of municipal police, with the aim of generating more effective and fair public policies regarding citizen security. The discussion on this topic becomes relevant in a context where the work of police forces is essential to guarantee the tranquility and well-being of the population.
