Ana María Ibarra Olguín, candidate for minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, participated in a series of discussions organized by the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM), where she shared her vision of the Judiciary and interacted with the student community.
The candidate emphasized the importance of transforming the judicial system into a real tool for change and equity for those who have been historically marginalized. She underscored that her main focus is justice with equity, emphasizing the need for judicial decisions to recognize differences and seek to level the playing field for all, without privileges, but with empathy and social awareness.
During the question and answer session, Ana María Ibarra reaffirmed her conviction that it is fundamental for the Court to be more humane and committed to equality, highlighting that justice should not be unreachable, but accessible to everyone. She expressed her determination to regain the trust of citizens in the Judiciary, stressing that rulings should have a positive impact on people's lives.
At the end of the conversation, Ibarra summarized her career, stating that she comes from a working-class family from the north of the country, holds a doctorate in Law from the University of Virginia, and has worked at all levels of the Judiciary, currently serving as a circuit magistrate. With more than fifteen years of experience, she has developed rulings focused on human rights and has contributed to the training of new generations from the academic realm.
