Germán Gómez García revealed in an interview a series of illegal practices and manipulations he experienced during his work at Televisa. In the face of possible attempts to discredit his testimony, Gómez claimed to have compelling evidence, such as photos, payroll receipts, and file metadata that support his claims of eight years of experience at the company. According to him, Javier Tejado received campaign reports and delivered them to executives, and the campaign against him lasted for months.
During the interview, Germán Gómez shared that the stress generated by the situation led him to a suicide attempt in 2023, resulting in his hospitalization in a psychiatric center. One of the most critical incidents he mentioned was the Westhill case, where a rape accusation was fabricated to harm a magistrate competing for the presidency of the Supreme Court. He also described how false accusations were manufactured against businessmen like Ricardo Salinas Pliego, Carlos Slim, and Alberto Ciurana.
Germán Gómez lamented having been part of manipulative attacks, such as the creation of fake videos to defame companies or personalities. He mentioned having been pressured by superiors, including Karla Aguilar, and having been involved in abusive working conditions with extended hours and a secretive work environment. His connection with Televisa began in 2017 with the expectation of writing scripts for telenovelas, but ended up joining a team that manipulated information.
The "Palomar," a clandestine group within Televisa Chapultepec, is pointed out by Germán as being responsible for fabricating fake news and smear campaigns against political and business competitors. Occupying a secret floor called the "seventh annex," this team worked in collaboration with the firm Metrics to carry out such manipulative operations with resources and support from the company.
In the interview, Germán Gómez shared his disillusionment upon discovering the illegal practices he was involved in, after having entered Televisa with the illusion of working in his field of study, film. Despite feeling manipulated and used in these operations, he decided to disclose the information backed by over 5 terabytes of data, leading to the investigation known as Televisa Leaks.
