The former Televisa collaborator, Germán Gómez, categorically stated that before contacting Carmen Aristegui with the material, he offered the information to TVAzteca without asking for anything in return, which was not taken seriously. In this regard, Gómez shared: "I offered the disk to Televisa Azteca, I told them, hey, this information is where you are receiving attacks… and I don’t ask for anything in return."
In an interview, Germán Gómez recounted that he was pressured by his surroundings to obtain economic benefits through the archive, but he refused. He emphasized that his uncle, journalist Salvador García Soto, proposed a financial agreement to deliver the disk, facing pressures to recover the material.
Gómez also mentioned that he holds Javier Tejado Dondé responsible in case something happens to him or his family, as since the exposure of the black campaigns from Televisa, the executive suggested that something could happen to him due to his mental health.
During the interview, Germán Gómez denied selling information to Aristegui Noticias about the black campaigns from Televisa, stating that his goal was for the information to come to light and be made public: "I reiterate, I did not sell you anything. I offered them with the aim of this coming to light, that it became public domain."
The former Televisa collaborator stated that during his time at the company he was driven "to the brink of suicide in 2023" by Tejado Dondé and that his diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder began in 2018. Finally, Germán Gómez did not rule out making the complete files public so that all material can be available for public consultation.
In his account, Gómez highlighted conditions of labor exploitation, claiming that he worked consecutive days, even in chats, without sleeping. He criticized Tejado Dondé for minimizing labor conflicts and for publicly exposing a complaint against him, generating a state of depersonalization in which he only existed to work. The doctors, after a hospitalization, attributed the crisis to an excess of work; finally, in December 2023, he attempted to commit suicide again after being abruptly fired.
