The Televisa Leaks scandal questions the journalistic ethics of Televisa and its political connections, particularly with the Morena party, as accusations arise against former executive Javier Tejado Dondé.

Controversy Surrounds Televisa Leaks and Ethics

Recent revelations have raised doubts about the journalistic ethics of Televisa and its possible connection to political interests, specifically with the Morena party.

The controversy known as Televisa Leaks began when Germán Gómez, a former collaborator of Televisa, accused Javier Tejado Dondé of leading an internal group called "El Palomar." Gómez, who has expressed concern for his safety, provided details in an interview with Aristegui Noticias about alleged systematic and deliberate digital manipulation operations within the group.

So far, Televisa has not issued any official statement regarding the departure of Javier Tejado Dondé or the accusations against him.

Amid the controversy, the team at Aristegui Noticias reported that Javier Tejado Dondé, who used to be the vice president of the Televisa Information Office and led the special group "El Palomar," no longer works at the company.

According to the investigation by Aristegui Noticias, "El Palomar" operated at Televisa between 2018 and 2024 with the alleged purpose of generating fake news, manipulating videos, and carrying out smear campaigns against figures uncomfortable for the company or its associates.

The leaked documents suggest that "El Palomar" collaborated with Metrics to Index, a company specialized in digital manipulation operations. It is mentioned that Tejado Dondé allegedly used Televisa's resources and infrastructure in favor of political figures like Arturo Zaldívar, with million-dollar contracts awarded during this period, including the production of a documentary series for more than 14 million pesos.

Among the main targets of these campaigns are Carmen Aristegui, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, and Carlos Loret de Mola, the latter after his departure from the broadcaster.
