The Complaints and Reports Commission of the National Electoral Institute (INE) has ordered Supreme Court Justice Lenia Batres Guadarrama to remove several posts from her Facebook profile due to alleged violations of the rules of the 2025 Judicial Elections. The resolution is based on a complaint filed by Martín Ramírez, who accused the justice of disseminating events organized by educational institutions that do not comply with current regulations for electoral processes and present irregularities.
The INE deemed it necessary to apply precautionary measures to request the immediate removal of posts related to academic activities conducted in Xalapa and Guadalajara. Additionally, the Commission called on Batres Guadarrama to act in accordance with the principles of legality, impartiality, and equity that govern democratic processes.
According to the document issued by the Commission, the justice's posts could contain "positions of a promotional nature" that could influence the electoral contest on June 1. Possible "contributions from prohibited entities" and personalized promotion in favor of the justice are also mentioned, which could constitute an improper use of public resources and a violation of the principles of neutrality and equity.
The INE emphasized the importance of establishing clear limits for the participation of public servants in activities with potential electoral impact, in order to avoid undue advantages and ensure fair conditions in political competition. Therefore, the Commission determined the adoption of precautionary measures and ordered the removal of the reported posts within 12 hours.
