The governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, urged citizens to inform themselves about the candidates and choose the most outstanding ones during the electoral process on June 1, when members of the Federal Judiciary will be elected. García emphasized the importance of citizen participation despite the controversies surrounding these elections.
As part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Colegio de Abogados de Nuevo León, the governor attended an event where he highlighted the need for the citizens of Nuevo León not to remain idle. He also stressed the importance of organizing debates to select local judges who will be in office in 2027.
García emphasized the importance of Nuevo León demonstrating how things are done in institutions, proposing methods to select future judges and magistrates of the state. He proposed the implementation of knowledge and manifest probity exams to ensure the suitability of candidates and avoid potential conflicts in their future performance.
In another context, the 200th anniversary of the Colegio de Abogados de Nuevo León was commemorated in a ceremony held at the Colegio Civil of UANL, bringing together prominent figures from the legal, political, and academic fields. The event, part of the institution’s Activity Report, provided a space for reflection on the history of the Colegio and the current challenges faced by the Judiciary.
Governor García was present at the commemoration alongside other personalities such as the Secretary General of Government, the head of the Ministry of the Interior, the mayor of Escobedo, and various legislators and figures from the judicial sphere and society. The event was more than a celebration, becoming a platform for debate on the future of justice in Nuevo León, in a national context that demands greater transparency and judicial independence.
