As LPO learned, the sector closest to Obradorism believes that the official maintains a very restrained discourse regarding the movement: he does not defend former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, suspicions about attacks on Morena during the summer persist, and his ties to the opposition do not disappear. The controversies related to drug trafficking and corruption surrounding some administrations during López Obrador's six-year term, as well as his closeness to the United States, make any affinity between García Harfuch and the former president impossible. Since the meeting between the Secretary of Security and Andrés Manuel in August of last year, the official has only referred to him on a couple of occasions, just once to praise him.
