Mexico Denies Report of Attack on Israeli Ambassador

The Secretariat of Foreign Relations (SRE) and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) reported that they have no information about a supposed attack against the ambassador of Israel in Mexico. Likewise, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its willingness to maintain fluid communication with all diplomatic representations accredited in the country. The SSPC, for its part, reaffirmed its respectful and coordinated collaboration, always within the framework of national sovereignty, with all security agencies that request it. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Mexican security services prevented a criminal network from allegedly attacking Israel's ambassador to Mexico, Einat Kranz-Neiger. In a statement released this Friday, the Foreign Ministry thanked Mexican security services for having dismantled a 'terrorist network directed by Iran' that intended to attack its ambassador. The United States pointed to Iran on Friday for the supposed attack against the Israeli ambassador in Mexico and condemned Iran's 'abominable international plots'. 'The abominable international plots of Iran, directed against its own citizens, Americans, and citizens of other nations, are incompatible with the behavior of a civilized state,' a State Department spokesperson told EFE. 'We work tirelessly with our partners to prevent these acts'.
