The National Electoral Institute (INE) announced that it is deploying planning and assessment efforts to ensure the organization of the 2027 Federal and Concurrent Electoral Process. Through a press release, INE highlighted the importance of its National Professional Electoral Service as a pillar of preparation. During the inauguration of the Third Regional Assessment Meeting with Local and District Electoral Colleges, the president of the Electoral Organization Commission, Martín Faz Mora, stated that “it is thanks to the National Professional Electoral Service that I have no doubt, it is the most professional and excellent career civil service of this country”. In this context, INE emphasized that this technical-operative body will be key to facing the operational, logistical, and regulatory challenge that the upcoming electoral cycle will entail. In turn, Counselor Claudia Zavala Pérez commented that “this is a citizen institution and it professionalized to provide a quality service to the citizenship”. INE seeks to identify “areas for improvement”. In its press release, INE reported that it has begun the evaluation of the operational, technical, and procedural procedures used in the electoral processes of the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 periods, in order to identify “areas for improvement that serve as a basis for the formulation of improvement proposals and legal modifications applicable to the 2026-2027 electoral processes”. Additionally, the electoral authority has appointed new presidencies of the Local Public Bodies (OPL) in 14 federal entities, which complements its institutional strengthening plan for the 2027 cycle. INE stressed that technical-operative accompaniment will be key, especially in coordination with the Executive Colleges, Secretariats, and Organization Colleges of the Federal Register of Voters, as well as with Electoral Training and Civic Education of the Local and District Executive Colleges.
