Ricardo Anaya, coordinator of the National Action Party (PAN) in the Senate of the Republic, accused the ruling party of proposing to advance the presidential recall consultation to 2027 instead of 2028 out of "fear and panic" due to the loss of citizen support.
"Let's add the governors to the ballot to revoke the mandate of all those who have ties to organized crime," said Anaya Cortés. "If they put her on the ballot, what will happen is that her mandate will be revoked with the vote of the opposition and many MORENA members who will betray her," added the PAN member.
He also added: "What many want is for her to be on the ballot, especially the governors, to have control in that election, to be able to threaten the president."
"If her mandate is revoked, we will go to a constitutional election and let the people vote," he said. "Do they want to make this move by putting the President on the ballot in 2027?"
He also asked that if the citizenry revokes the presidential mandate, it not be Congress that appoints the successor.
"We don't want Congress to appoint the successor, because then we would see the plan very clearly: they want to remove the president to put, for example, the son of López Obrador in her place," he said.
"They want to sell us the #PlanMichoacán as a security strategy. We are not afraid of them," added the PAN senator, adding that he believes Claudia Sheinbaum could lose due to the drop in her popularity due to recent violence.
"In reality, it is a sum of lies: recycled money, doctored figures and pacts with crime."
"Do you want to put her on the ballot? Put her there! Mexico deserves solutions, not propaganda."
