President Claudia Sheinbaum invited the National Chamber of the Radio and Television Industry (CIRT) to meet with the Presidential Commission for Electoral Reform to define the times allocated for broadcasting political parties' content during elections.
During the CIRT convention this 2025, the president reaffirmed the openness of her administration to society in general, and in particular to the radio and television sector, to whom she extended an invitation to meet with the Presidential Commission for Electoral Reform, which is headed by Pablo Gómez and coordinated by the Ministry of the Interior.
«I have put up for open discussion by all of society, through a commission, what could become an electoral reform. I invite you to have a meeting with this commission so that we can talk about the times that matter to you so much: the times for political parties during the election period».
Likewise, the head of state added:
«We are totally open to listening to each other, always with the idea of building together freedom, democracy, and the right to information».
She also reaffirmed that during her term, the Government will not censor or limit freedom of expression, «on the contrary, we defend it because we understand that without freedom there is no democracy and without democracy, there is no justice».
