Sheinbaum Rejects Trump's Offer of Military Intervention in Mexico

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has stated that her government will not accept any form of military intervention from the United States. During her morning press conference, she revealed that in phone calls with Donald Trump, he offered 'whatever you need to combat the criminal groups,' but she consistently refused. Sheinbaum emphasized that Mexico is open to collaboration and information exchange but will not allow any intervention in its territory. She reminded that 'the last time the United States came to Mexico, they took half of our territory.' These remarks follow a series of contentious comments from Trump and an incident in the state of Tamaulipas, where U.S. flags appeared on Bagdad Beach, sparking a territorial dispute. Sheinbaum also reported that the Mexican Navy has removed the flags for investigation. The Mexican president stated that the understanding with the U.S. is based on coordination and collaboration, not subordination, and that the country's sovereignty will be respected.
