Romero stated: "Change is possible, and the National Action Party (PAN) is the only party with the strength and organization to be the great alternative for Mexico, even the officialism recognizes it." "Crime must be combated, not embraced; we must face it with determination... why does the State exist if not to protect our families?" he added.
Romero emphasized: "That PAN governs better is not just a slogan, it's a reality. That there is more security, more patrols, more public works, more roads—this is Acción Nacional. Relaunching ourselves means shouting it from the rooftops," he added.
Regarding the party's new statutes, he detailed that the goal is to make PAN a more citizen-focused faction. "We want it to open up to citizens, for PAN to become a genuine instrument of citizen participation."
The national leader of PAN, Jorge Romero, headed the 26th albiazul assembly, where the party's new statutes were approved. These include open membership, flexibility for citizen candidacies, and the possibility of re-electing the party leader.
He promised that changes in PAN would begin to be noticed next year and assured that by 2027, they would start displacing the 4T from the Chamber of Deputies. "In 2030, we will remove the Morena cartel from the National Palace," added the leader.
At the event, he was supported by all PAN governors, legislators, and mayors, to whom he asked to stop being part of the 4T's agenda through critical reactions and begin setting their own milestones. "Today we are taking a step forward for our candidatures: the best citizen PAN members, or no one at all."
"The relaunch is and will always be about speaking well of our governments. We must not react to the government; we must set the national debate from our own ideas and denunciations. It's a matter of believing in ourselves and each other. Let there be no doubt that if we are united, we will regain the balance in the Chamber of Deputies."
"In 2026, we will present the Plan of Action for Mexico where we will formalize our national project, with proposals on security, citizen participation, and crime prevention, making it clear that state policy must be to combat organized crime."
"With each morning press conference, they reaffirm that we are doing very well," he declared.
"Our relaunch reminded us that whoever sets the narrative sets the agenda. The main proposals include opening membership to anyone who wants to click from their mobile phone; PAN is open for everyone," commented the PAN leader.
He did not speak about his re-election but assured that gender parity would be mandatory in all party committees. "All people who want to run for office only need to be well-rated by the people... additionally, we have as a mandatory norm gender parity in all Acción Nacional committees," he concluded.
