Citizens' Movement demanded that the local deputy from PRI, Lorena de la Garza, explain the origin of the funds with which she acquired goods that sum up to over a million pesos. The list of alleged luxury items used by Lorena de la Garza includes articles such as a Cartier bracelet costing 305,000 pesos; a Cartier-Santos watch for 153,000 pesos; a black Yves Saint Laurent bag for $57,229 pesos; a Ralph Lauren sweater whose cost is 43,839 pesos and a belt, among others, totaling 1,041,307 pesos. The coordinator of MC in the local Congress, Sandra Pámanes, asked the PRI member to explain the "incongruity" between her expenses and income and pointed to a "squandering of resources." "Give an explanation regarding these excessive expenses that may be of a personal nature, but in the end, we are public servants and we must answer to the citizenry, and this is a total incongruity between the income and the expense that she is representing at this moment," she added. "She has been one of the most critical of the use of public resources, and well, this type of personal expense is not justified; there is an squandering of resources in many ways," said Pámanes. "Excessive expenses on luxury products do not go with the life that all of us lead." After the dissemination of a list of apparent items used by the local deputy from PRI, Lorena de la Garza, Citizens' Movement demanded that the legislator explain the origin of the resources with which she acquired said goods that sum more than a million pesos. The coordinator of MC in the local Congress, Sandra Pámanes, asked the PRI member to explain the "incongruity" between her expenses and income and pointed to a "squandering of resources." "Absolutely, and we see it in this, and how she can squander resources in many other things that do not go with the income, and in that sense, well, let her give an explanation, especially before the citizenry, the one to whom she speaks so much and points out a myriad of situations, but in her personal life, well, it obviously leaves much to be desired," concluded the legislator. "In a colloquial way, I would ask Lorena de la Garza: who paid for it?"
