It was a visibly uncomfortable question for the president, who initially avoided being direct on the matter, prompting insistence from the press on the issue that was reported by international agencies, which revealed that Petroleos Mexicanos had halted the scheduled shipments for this January. Sheinbaum replied: "Well, just as for a time it was not sent and then it was sent..." When questioned whether they will consider resending oil shipments to the island, Sheinbaum limited herself to saying that they would inform, if that were the case.
