Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated during her morning press conference that Mexico has always been willing to mediate in conflicts. She was responding to a question about whether she would be willing to mediate between the two countries, whose diplomatic relations have been marked by decades of tensions and have escalated after U.S. President Donald Trump announced tariffs on countries sending oil to Cuba. "That depends on Cuba and the United States," the Mexican head of state noted. "Mexico has always put the table to be able to attend to any conflict. Cuba is a sovereign, independent country."
