The State Peace and Security Construction Table of Zacatecas reported that an explosion of a device recorded on a secondary road in the border area between Ojuelos de Jalisco and Pinos affected elements or units of the Zacatecas Immediate Reaction Force (FRIZ) or other police corporations in Zacatecas. In a statement, the body specified that the fact became known “due to reports circulating on social networks” and insisted that there was no state personnel involved. The security table also informed that authorities in Jalisco reported an aggression in their territory, where elements of the Colotlán and Santa María de los Ángeles police stations were ambushed while conducting surveillance tours in the community of Santa María La Hiedrita. According to the statement, “this fact was not directed at the Security Forces of Zacatecas”. Preliminarily, on Monday afternoon, versions circulated on social networks about the detonation of an explosive in the region. On these same platforms, a video was also allegedly showing the moment of the aggression and was disseminated as having occurred in Zacatecas territory. The authorities reiterated the call to the population to stay informed through official sources and indicated that “the coordination between corporations of the three orders of government is maintained permanently to preserve tranquility and security in the state”. In turn, the authorities of Jalisco informed that at the height of the Santa María de los Ángeles community, an official vehicle was ambushed. After the aggression, a police officer was injured in a leg and received first aid; to date, her health is reported as stable in a hospital in Zapopan where she was transferred. At the site, a security operation was activated in which the National Guard participated, but to date, no arrest of any person related to the events has been reported.
